The KEG Super Nova 4000 is a contractor grade, stainless steel chain cutter for heavy duty work, set up for 6" to 16" pipe and expandable to 48" with KEG expansion kits. It is rated for roots, scaling, rust, grease, minerals and all protruding taps in sanitary and storm lines of any pipe material.

The cutter carries 4 rear M14 and 8 rotating M6 titanium ceramic inserts and drives two separate cutting chains, which KEG rates at more than 7,500 RPM across its chain cutter family. The roller chain is forgiving on pipe walls. The kit includes skids and distance plates for 6" to 16" pipe, uses a 1 1/4" HP swivel as standard, and needs a pump supplying at least 60 GPM at 1700 PSI.

Choosing the Right Version

• Expansion is stepwise, as listed by KEG: the 16" to 24" kit (200402-C) requires this cutter (200400-C); the 24" to 32" kit (200403-C) requires 200400-C and 200402-C; the 32" to 48" kit (200404-C) requires 200400-C, 200402-C and 200403-C.
• KEG lists a pulling device as required for the 32" to 48" expansion kits. Spray bar attachments are also sold separately.
• Kit contents as listed by KEG include the running axle, rotating body, chain retainer and base body, M14 and M6 titanium ceramic inserts, 16 mm and 30 mm rotation spinners, skids and distance plates, chain, 1 1/4" x 1 1/4" and 1 1/4" x 1" swivels, grease gun, 28" tool box, heavy duty chain breaker and wrenches.
• KEG recommends cleaning and video inspecting the pipe before running any chain cutter, and following the cutter manual.
• KEG supplies its chain cutters with titanium ceramic inserts only.
